Mighty Warriors / Men’s Ministry
3rd Saturday monthly
"Men’s breakfast and workday" 8:00 am
The Mighty Warriors are the amazing team of men at Clearview who help make sure the church is well maintained and operational.
The tasks they perform could be anything from:
setting up for events and services,
handing out visitor cards,
filling the baptistry,
making coffee or
other tasks and projects that help lighten the load of our Pastor.
"Hi, I am Tony Collum, I’m 56 and have been married to my wonderful wife Diana since 1988. I have 4 children, 3 sons and a daughter, and 3 grandchildren. I grew up going to church, but I did not become a Christian until 1996. I started learning and growing in the Lord. I was the closest in my walk as I had ever been over the next 10 years.
In November 2007, my middle son was shot and killed. While going through the grief of the loss of my loving son, I was also facing anger towards the man that had killed him. As I carried and held onto this anger for 10 years, it was starting to affect my relationship with God, because I was not willing to forgive. The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:14, “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Once I realized the forgiveness was “to” him, but “for” me, it lifted the weight off my heart. This also opened my eyes to see that I had to forgive myself for my short comings. I immediately saw the blessings from this obedience when I attended a program and was blessed to meet a man who had shot and killed someone else’s son. God had a reason for putting us together! We were able talk, embrace, and be able to put “flesh to the feelings”. He is my brother in Christ and now my friend.
Even though I have been a Christian for over 20 years, the recent friendships that I have been fortunate enough to develop through the programs with Clearview Bible Church, such as the Men’s Breakfast and The Mighty Warriors, have helped me get closer to God and grow in my faith.
